windshield remove and installation help

ok what i am askin for is removal and installation of the front windscreen thought ild ask for a bit of info before i start. reason is pretty obvious has massive crack along the whole windshield.
anyway did search i have only found to remove example
poke hole in rubber seal use piano wire or guitar wire etc and go around window
well in doing this it will reck the seal so can you actually buy seals for them or maybe save the exsisting one?? or is there other tricks for removal

installation i need help on that one i guess the window gets glued in or somthin
hence reason for askin and makin the thread
im gonna start takin the metal trim around it off tomorro to see what actually dealing with
any help would be great by the way its an 83

plus i just wanna post a pic of my dash i just painted the other day just wanna c what ppl think well actually dont care but just to show that black is better than kaka brown

Yes its glued in, there is no rubber seal. Have a pro install it. They can come out to you.

love the dash... can wait till i get the time to get mine going... i need a new center console peice if anyone intrested in hooking me up... 83..ok sorry for the plug. but really do need one.

at any rate... how hard was it to get the vents out and get them painted. I'm doing a black w/ green highlights... even though my door is going to be repainted... i don't like the puke green it has turned out to be over time.. oh well just another day in the neighborhood... looks good though.

If your dead set on doing it, use a heat gun to warm up the urethane that holds the windsheild in place. That will make it easier to remove, once it's removed scrape off the old urethane. Reapply a new bead of Auto Glass urethane ( 3M # 8690) and install new glass. Good Luck!

And dont shut the car doors with the windows up for a few days or itll pop out.

ditto! i forgot about that part, if you have to shut the doors roll down the windows to about 1/2:}

its really esay once you have the top dash fully out its just a matter of undoing the screws behind them i think some one had took myn out before there was heaps of missing screws
