Window won't go all the way down

I'm in the process of reassembling my '85 project car (Stormy) and have run into a problem. I installed the power windows from my GSL-SE parts car and now the window won't go all the way down. It operates beautifully...goes up and down smoothly, stays in the channel...all is perfect. Except that it doesn't go all the way down. The regulator is going through it's full travel, but for some reason the window is about an inch from being all the way down.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,
Rich

Thats how mine is. I'm pretty sure with power windows thats as far as they'll go. Mines been like that forever, wouldn't worry about it.

Power window regulators only let the window go down that far.

Yep; my manuals went all the way into the door, but when I converted to electric, I have about half an inch left showing. I always thought it was a problem, too, til I was set straight here a couple months ago.

I use White Lithium grease on the tracks and rollers. I get it in an aerosol can. Wheel bearing grease on the gears.

I used white lithium grease on the regulator rollers, tracks and pivot points that I could get to. For a couple that I couldn't force grease into I used some engine rebuild lube composed of a mixture of STP and engine oil, and let it run into the joint. Of course I cleaned it all up really good first. I took the big tension spring off and cleaned it with gas, then reinstalled it and packed it with wheel bearing grease. I couldn't decide what to use on the gears, wheel bearing grease or white lithium grease. Ended up using white lithium. I even completely rebuilt the motors. I'm really happy with the way they work. Quick, quite, and smooth.
