Window track

The driver's side window(manual) when you start to roll it up, it tries to go forward and come off the track, if you let it go it will get 1/2 way up and bind up....if you force it to stay in that back channel as it goes up, it will go up correctly....it has been ajusted as far back as the adjustment screw will go, what causes this? Is the only course of action to get a new window regulator?

Mary

Have you lubed the rollers, roller tracks and gears? Also check the window channels, especially at the bottom front, that front one tends to get out of place, causing what you are describing.

My car does the same thing, but only the window comes off the tracks when its about 3 in. from the top, and to fix that I just bent the top of the door (window frame) inwords a few milimeters

mine is soooooo bad that it would have to be bent in over a foot! Yanked it apart today an got everything cleaned an working real smooth thinking that would do it...if it would jsut stay in the front channel better, that helps it greatly....I think if I replaced the seals in that area that would mostly fix it too....when I go tthe window to stay in the front channel, the window would grab part of the rubbery weatherstripping and try to pull it up w/ it(but it was still attached on both sides, so it would completely bind up the window, but it was pretty well in place....
