A 82 motor needs a 81-82 flywheel, otherwise the motor is not balanced.

ok, well i have the 82 flywheel on there, it just seems like its the wrong size compared to my 85 flywheel. like it wont meet up in the tranny. and it doesnt seem like the clutch for the 85 will go on the 82 flywheel.

The clutch needs to match the flywheel, so a '82 flywheel needs a '82 clutch, which is smaller when compared to the '85 by 10mm.

85 Transmission will bolt up the 82 motor with out any problems.
