will this tranny work?
will a 12a 1985 5 speed bolt to a 86 fc3s engine? The 86 fc3s tranny has gone and I have a spare 1985 5 speed that I wanna bolt in. Is it a direct fit? what needs to be done? The bad tranny is a 5 speed. Sorry just wanna make sure. thanks.

The 1st gen shifter will be a little forward in the tunnel hole.Since you cant make the shift rod LONGER,you cant easily remedy this like when cutting the shaft shorter to put an FC trans in a 1st gen.The trans mount is also different so you may have to do a bit of massage work in that area too.
