Will it ever end... now making noise as clutch released

OK... blah blah blah I got a blow through turbo.... blah blah.. switched to another 12a after blowing the first... blah blah boosted... and clutch felt like it slipped... now wierd noise when letting off of clutch....

Option A) Ride it out? (hope that it goes away)

Option B) pull the darn trany?

Option C) Drive it into a wall.

Does it ever end man....

Should have started a poll but this is the first post that I have done where I am actually pissed!!! Got an old school 325is in my garage waiting for a new tranny.... is it time

Clutches seem to be a bitch or something. I had an ebay clutch lasted 3 months (expected), I bought a RB street/strip HD clutch and it lasted 4 months??.. out of the blue it started slipping and now it's completely fucked, couldn't believe it. A buddy of mine has had a centerforce on his FB since 2002.. no slipping to date, amazing.

If you lose a clutch disk in a very short time, it means that either your driving technique needs changing, the clutch is inadequate for the way you are using it (stock clutch used for frequent drag racing, etc) or that you should have changed out your pressure plate when you changed your clutch.

What noise is it making? The pilot bearing, release bearing and disc can all make noise, all are different. Did you: have the flywheel surfaced, replace the pilot/release bearings, break the clutch in per instructions?

When I bought my car in 2003 I think, it still had the stock clutch in it. It worked great until one friday at the track when it started slipping. After that, it was a matter of days before it was gone completely. I replaced the disk only, with a napa unit that lasted about two years. Now I've got a centerforce that's held fine for at least 4 years, and no sign of slippage yet. Always replace the disk and pressure plate, and if the flywheel looks bad, have it resurfaced. If it's not too bad, you can just scuff it up real good with some emery cloth. Remember, a new clutch may slip a bit until you wear the fine hairs off of it.

This is the clutch I currently have....

Corksport has it for around $500. If you shop around I'm sure you could find it cheaper.

The flywheel was resurfaced, the pressure plate is the RB race pressure plate here https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=827444 (not the street strip I mentioned above), the clutch was a fairly new organic. I had no issues with holding on my Street Ported engine with this combination. If I didnt feel the slippage and it was just noise I might think pilot bearing also but when I get on it I can feel it slip. I may have gotten on it too early... Is there a chance that I could baby it and it will re-seat (for lack of the proper term). I drove it in this am and it did not sound as bad is it did before but I did not boost at all.

The noise it makes is a whiring that is more pronounced when the clutch is niether released or fully engaged.

No, the slipping is due to glazing caused by hot spots. If it's not bad, the spots can sometimes be sanded down, then break in the clutch again, the right way.

That whirring noise sounds suspiciously like a throwout bearing, but unless it's hanging up on it's travel along the trans front cover sleeve (or not releasing fully for some other reason), that shouldn't cause a slip.

Pilot bearing will only make noise when the clutch is released (foot on pedal). When the clutch is out fully, the pilot does not turn at all.
