Hello rx7ers,

My question is this: Will 195/70/14s work on my SE? I need to get the car inspected while I am race prepping it and I found some cheap tires with tread on them...

I did a search but most people are concerned with proper size

Don't care how well these work just wondering if people think they will rub.

sidewalls should be 136.5mm right? while 195/60s (what people seem to think is good fitment) is 117mm

approx 20mm or 2cms taller right?

195/70/14's came stock on 83 Limited Editions, so yes they will fit....as long as your wheel offset is close to what stock is there should be no issues....

 

Thanks! Yes they are stock gsl-se wheels so I think I am good.

 

I told you wrong, just went and looked at my 83 LE.....its a 195/60/14 that came on them....so a 195/7014 would be a bit taller.... side profile of a 195/60 is about 117mm..... a 195/70 is about 136.5mm....a diff of 19.5mm, or 39mm overall....approx 1.55 inches, so it might not work....sorry for the bad info, made an assumption off my feeble memory
