Why worry about "weed whacker" Exhaust???

You guys worry about sounding "like hondas" quite often.

Well, let me explain my point of view.

1) Rotaries make this sound by nature. It is their natural tone. i LOVE the natural tone of the rotary. It sounds soooo.... rotorish? Well, regardless, its how the engine is SUPPOSED to sound.

2) Hondas, well, they just copy whats good. If anything, they are trying to sound like our cars. So, why worry so much if you "sound like a honda", when it should be more along the lines of "Well, that honda sounds a lot like a rotary, only its slow".

My opinion anyways.

Decently quiet and rotary don't work together.

Yeah I agree. Open up that exhaust. And just think...when you get a turbo on there you will have the weedwhacker meets jet motor sound. Nothing else like it in the world. I swear.

Who thinks a honda sounds like a rotary? I admit, the 2 combustions per rev, means that the fundamental "note" is the same as a four cylinder, but thats about where the similarities end.

Rotary engines have bite. An uncorked rotary sounds more like a machine gun, than the honda pissed off bumble bee sound.

I admit that the weed wacker sound is not my favorite, but its growing on me.

When people hear your car, and see you premix with 2 cycle oil, they scratch the hair off their heads.

I agree, nothing is better than hearing your turbo spool through massive exhuast while the ported engine is idling calmly at 1700RPM
