Unhappy Why won't you run???

Hey, 1982 GSL, 12A; manual.

Originally had a problem with a dirty fuel tank. Cleaned that out, had to clean out the carb a well to get the dirt out of it. Then had a problem with water in the tank; purged that out. Rebuilt carb again, it's clean. Car has spark. Both leading and trailing plugs work. Engine seems healthy, it chugs along when plugs are out of it and it ran fine before the carb became plugged from the sediment in the tank (former owner smashed the gas cap plate so the cap wouldn't mount and it was open all the time). I thought it may be bad gas as well, so I used fresh gas in there, but the results were the same.

Well....I can get the car to fire over, but then it dies almost instantly. Whenever I pull the plugs, they're wet, like they've quit firing for whatever reason. I can pull the plugs out of the motor and they spark fine when grounded to the chassis or motor. The eninge will fire over after either manually pouring fuel down the carb or using the accelerator pump to do it. After it fires over, though, the car dies just about instantly. It's like it's not getting any fuel at that point, but the plugs always turn up wet when I pull them.

All pasages in the carb are clean, the float levels are where they need to be (15mm from the top of gasket on the air horn), the plugs seem to be getting spark.....

Could this possibly be a vaccum leak? If so, what should I check? How big of a vaccum leak would this have to be to keep the vehicle from running at all?

BAD GAS.

Now it's running fine. <_<

All that **** and it was just bad gas. Well....looks like I'll have to drain the tank again. I pulled the fuel line ging to the fuel filter and had the fuel line pulling fuel out of a gas can sitting next to the car. It was all just bad gas.....man I feel like a jackass.
