why doesnt someone with the IMSA front bumper make a mold?????
i will also look into polyeurothane ... a two piece mould would be tough.. but could be done.. and the advantages would be worth it... ( hit the curb and dont destroy your bumper..
lighter than firbeglass and more forgiving than cf i like it....

its gonna be a more "drifter" style bumper for those of you who want a smooth look... possibly carbon fibre depending on demand..

I'll have to go by my parents house, but I have a polyurethane version of that bumper. 3 piece as well... Unpainted and factory fresh... I'll take pics and donate it to anyone who can make a mold for y'all... Though I'd want it back at the end of the process though...
In fact, I might know of someone who works with fiberglass and CF around here.

way ahead of you guys,,, i made this one last year and have decided im going to modify it and enlarge the middle section for more air flow.. and make a few other minor changes ( scrap that turn signal...

i definately dont expct everyone to like it.... im sure there will be allot of interest in the finished product though... allot of people wanted to buy this one off me when i first posted it... and i dont think this one is all that great... i will definately have a more factory look to it than this one (as far as body lines and the overall look of the car that is)

the thing about under chin ones is that they never usually flow with the stock bumper very well usually look tacky and out of place... but everyones got thier style ... just my opinion.. when you make this make sure it moulds well to the stock bumper maybe hide the seam under the factory molding line of the bumper.. thats what i would do... cant wait to see the progress guys...
btw its a bit off topic but i will be posting some pics of my custom taillights with lexan cover soon... and i plan to do something of a rear spoiler soon aswell...

I'm redoing my workshop right now so I have more room.
Anybody got any airdams available to use for making molds?
Looking to create some parts, so anything you can loan me can be made into a mold so you have a resource for replacements at a good price. Thjis includes wings, skirts and any other suggestions.
PM me.

do you have what it takes to make these out of polyurethane?
I used to work at a factory that made GM polyurethane parts. The process is pretty involved. Once you have the two piece mold made, you need to inject the hot poly at just the right temp and pressure, then as it cools and expands the excess is ejected through little holes. After you pop it out of the mold, you sand off the flashing and bleed areas, paint it, and you're ready to go.
If you had the right mold, and it was compatible with their equipment, you might be able to get a company to handle the injection for you. I don't think this is something that you could do in your garage though...
