first post eh..welcome to ROTARY..flooding eh,would help with info...like year, engine model and carb or EFI...can tell you this much..carb,it's usually float level, dirty needle and seat, float adjustment...EFI,leaky injectors, take the out and get them cleaned, redone or replaced..i'm sure you are a good guy ANDY (but reading up is key..tons of info here..repititious questions are aggravating)..if you haven't got it started after continous flooding, you aren't deflooding right..search deflooding procedure..good luck to ya ...

take off the air cleaner cover and turn the key to the on position (dont crank)... does gas pour out the jets? if so, your carb needle valves are shot and need service. this is easy enough to do with the carb on the car, just remove the air cleaner, the choke springy thingy and then unscrew the many screws that hold the air horn on, then take out the big bolt down the middle. take off the top and turn it upside down, the needle valves are right there on the floats. i wont bother covering more until you know you need carb service.

sounds like floats, or needles. if the needles are fine then get a carb rebuild kit and go to town. while you have them out, weigh the floats. if they weigh differently and/or they feel heavy then you will need to replace them. i had that problem AFTER the carb rebuild.....thank god my dad is ASE certified with over 20 years experience or i would have been screwed.

i gotta say....old school tricks are badass even if they arent utilized on the newer vehicles
