whoo hoo, getting my second 1st gen.

Yes, its christmas early.

One of my moms co-workers at the mazda dealer came up to here and asked about me, and my seven.

she said her dad had one and she still has it but it doesnt start.

she said it ran great but it sat for a couple years then she blew the starter trying to get it going and it sat some more.

sounds like the first seven I got.

anywho.. she asked if my Mom if I would want to buy it
my mom told her that I am dead broke + its christmas.

soooooo.... I called her...

she said that I could come over any time and if I wanted it, she would just sign it over, and I could take it.for like $50.

she also said that she had like $5000 in receipts for like the brakes and suspension, blah blah blah.

If its a GSL Im going to ******* die, that would give me so many parts I need.

going to check it out tommorow.

I would be taking the rear end and the master cylinder, maybe some other stuff.

everything else would be up for sale.

let me know what you guys want. Ill have more info tommorow.

Your postcount is pretty high, but I thought I'd mention this anyway, and that is; if the car ends up being better off than the one you're driving, don't have such an attachment to your current ride that you strip a cherry GSL to put the parts on a GS...

One of the challenges of moving from one car to another is what you do with the stripped-down hulk which is a shadow of it's former self. I know this because I still have the stripped-down hulk of my old 80(SA) LS SCCA racecar in the garage with a blown engine.

Biting the bullet and moving on to your next car can be a real eye opener when you finally realize that the work to rebuild your aging project is less than going with your new find and calling it a day. Sounds like you've stumbled onto a great find, HTH,

got quite a bit done to my S. about a year and $6k so far and its not done.

plus I was told that the cars body is pretty rusted up.

could make a good winter beater.

I miss rear wheel drive, and I remember my FB being great in the snow when I was test driving it.

ah ****, its a 83 gs.

which means no rear end or master cylinder that I need, its all rusted out, and it had the air/oil cooler.

It has a really nice red interior, but the drivers seat is torn.

Not worth it.

its free, not 50.

I dont really have the time to deal with it.

If people want the engine or tranny or any of the interior let me know.

i have about anouther week to get it. If I get enough requests by then ill get it.

Here s run down on the car.

83-85 GS

It ran years back but was put into storage, lady blew the starter trying to get it started. so who knows on the fuel system the carb or any of that stuff.

I dont know the milage, forgot to check.

interior is really nice - a ripped drivers seat. interior is red, has a 140mph speedo, shifter and boot are nice, rear hatch interior stuff is okay.

overall interior is very nice.

engine bay looks clean, there is some oil under the cooler/filter.

car is complete, let me know what you want

A free car is too good a deal to pass up. You could stand to make quite a bit on parts alone. Just buy a cheapo car cover and stash it in the yard.
