yea that angle does look a bit extreme but then again i've seen production cars that have angles like that. I guess it should be ok right?

Sorry to not explain earlier but 2 inches has to be cut off the end of the steering colum pipe before the end bearing slides on so the u-joint works properly. Maybe I didnt tell you guys but I have already had this thing all together and tested it for movement, flex, smoothness, fitment... The pic is before I removed the said 2 inches. Right now the u-joint is all connected to the colum and it works flawlessly if I do say so myself. By the way I have a line on about 15 racks around here from the wreckers. Dont know price but I may get them for $ 50-60 Canadian each. The dia. is about 1.75 inches where the oil pan is, length? I will measure tommorow. When I say Cosmo I mean the motor is from a Cosmo car from Japan it is not a 20B (Im not that rich by any means) It's the 13BRE Twin Turbo Engine that DirectFreak ,Setzep, and so on are using but with a Turbonetics T60-1, I am hoping to get about 1100HP out of it with a stock ecu and fuel system, according to my calculations and with the addition of the new rack and pinion this should be no problem. Especially now that I have lost over 150 Lbs by getting rid of the old box. I will talk to yall tommorw.

are you going to consider making these as "kits" as in get all the parts cut what you need to cut, ect, ect... basicly make it so people can buy a kit of you and bolt it in to there car?

for a fee of course. nothing is free. i would buy a kit off you.

I think that part would hit my turbo manifold otherwise might work on my car. What about making the mount/brackets out of square tubing instead of sheetmetal? Would probably be a lot more rigid.

1100Hp and crap after that!!!LoL I was seeing if you guys are paying attention. Anyway I thought of the square tube, round tube idea but it wont work because it would have to be large enough stock to keep everything ridgid and would hit everything...
oilpan, manifold etc. The bracket is made of
1/4 plate steel (definately not sheetmetal) and when I had it in the car without the rack bolted to it I jacked the front end up and it did not move a mm, then 4 of us with a combined weight of over 800lbs got in the engine bay stood on the frame rails and tried to make the bracket move, warp, or fail in any way...nothing haappened. Pretty scientific stuff I would say!!lol
You had to see the look on my wife's face when we called her out to get in the engine bay with 4 greese monkeys, It was priceless. You have to remember Im 31 and seeing four thirty something guys jumping around in an engine bay looks pretty disturbing. It is now called "The Riskyseven Ritual". Hey Setzep I took a look at your turbo mani pics and I dont think it will hit. Look closely in the other pics and you will see the bracket is bent 3 times on the pass. side in order to clear that situation. Besides if it wont clear your setup we will just have to make you a custom one that will. No worries. K?

ahh.. 1/4" plate, yeah that won't bend I thought you were going to make it out of sheetmetal, my bad.

Your car will actually be easier to convert to rack and pinion. Take a look at it, you'll notice your steering shaft isn't mounted directly to the steering box. It already has a u-joint so you woulden't have to cut the box apart like he did.

Setzep, with the 1/4" steel, you could probably trim a little off here and there for clearance. Yea, those with a PS column would have this much easier.

I went and checked your pics again Setzep and if your turbo manifold does not hit the original steering system anywhere then guess what you lucky bastard? It aint gonna hit with the rack in place.
Its almost like we telepathicly were communicating while I was designing the bracket and you were doing your manifold. It seems you are gonna have over a 1/2 inch clearance. WoooooooHoooooooo!!!

On another note, I noticed you are selling a gsl-se suspension set up. I've got a problem on my car, I need the two half cantilope shaped brackets that are welded to the frame on either side of the trany, this is where the trany bracket bolts to the frame. Mine got fucked up by a curb. i know you said that that se was in an accident, just wondering if you would sell these to me.

1/4" is alittle much, 3/16" will work just fine.
