Most Elford's are SA. Specifically, all the Elford Turbos originally sold as such were SA's. If yours is a FB, the Elford parts might have been added as a Kit.

^^^^ Actually I am not sure if your getting the SA/FB thing confused depending on where in the world you live. If you look in the bottom right had corner of the Turbo Elford brochure above you can see it was printed in '82.

So more than likely this would be for the S2/S3 or FB Rx7's not just only for the SA's

the seven on the add looks just like mine, but with the kit

barn door style mirrors, lenses, license plate between tails, etc

all 7s outside the states (like the one in the photo) were SA22c, even if they were S2 or S3

Yes, S2 Elford Turbo had SA chassis VIN, in 1982.
Andreas, is your Elford RHD or LHD? In what Nation was it originally sold?

S2 had SA chassis numbers in all markets except North America, IIRC. They're still what we'd call 'FBs' but without the North American VIN style

Therefore it is puzzling why Andreas has a FB chassis number. It should be a SA, being sold outside North America.

^^ OK where on the same page. He might have said that in reference to what we call FB's in the states and his car could verywell have a SA chassis number. But well wait and here from him

One thing about this bumper - if one did make a replicac of it, you'd have to make holes in the sides for the DOT mandated front side marker lights. In the US, marker lights behind the front wheels don't cut it.

i have a FB chassis number.
500 Elford's were made and from those only 12 LHD and i have 1 of them. 'know' of one other that is in the USA. mine is from Belgium or France and was converted by Elford in the UK. Then the owner drove it in Switzerland and after he died the car was shipped to Scotland were it stood years outside. After that i found it on eBay.co.uk and after i bought it i collected it on a trailer from Scotland and drove it back to my home here in the Netherlands waiting to be repaired.
