Who knows how to fix the steering column breakaway??

I'm sick of the damn steering wheel moving in and out ~ a 1". If I remember righ there was someone here that had a fix for this problem, something like drilling a hole in the column and putting a cotter pin in there??

Looked at Serzys website and don't see how you could do that, unless you drilled all the way through the housing and shaft- put the cotter pin in then somehow broke the unwanted part of the cotter pin off. Otherwise you wouldent be able ot steer the car.

Hmm....

Anyone else have any ideas?? This thing is pissing me off big time!

I fixed mine by removing the outer housing and the upper part of the steering shaft, then drilled and tapped holes that hold set screws which clamp the two shafts together. I think I used 4 setscrews, 2 on each flat. a genuine PITA, but it worked well.
