I had 386k on an 80. But it was rebuilt once cause of serious oil leaks Motor looked fine inside when pull apart. But replaced everything...
My 85 has 224k on it, when it decided to kick the bucket
The vert has 130k on it , and runs perfect
*all these are miles not km's

My '87 n/a FC had 225,XXX miles on he before I gave her to my dad. He was having problems with her and I told him to do a compression test thru Mazda(he's mechanically unsound). He said that it was some type of adjustment and that the engine came back with near perfect compression!
I was the 3rd owner of the car. My buddy Tim had the car for 6 months(ran into financial difficulty so he sold the car to me). Before that it belonged to some Special Forces guy who drove it "on the weekends". He told Tim that the only thing he had really done to the car was the K&N drop in and a new paint job. That's it. Tim sold the car to me with 186,xxx miles on her. I had her for about a year as my daily race/driver car and she never gave me any real problems(unlike my FD )
Either way, I asked my dad how many miles does my 7 have and he replied, "250,XXX miles son". Now that's a lot!...so I'm shooting for Mike P's record!!!!

Well thanx guys, I figured somebody else here would be into the 300's Wanna hear the bad thing, I actually dont think theres anything wrong with the motor... I think its a severe case of carbon lock, when I got divorced I had to give her a running car, she chose that one because she knew I loved it so much. Well 2 months later she calls and says it wont start come and get it. Well she said it drove fine, and then in the morning wouldnt start, perfect definition of carbon lock.
Well a month or so went by and I finally got the car, it had been sitting 3 months.. I tried everything to restore the motor and she just wouldnt run, so I beleive its carbon locked. No way in hell you loose both rotors at once, especially running fine one day and in the morning dont run at all. I kinda was asking for it, cause she parked in the backyard and I only drove it like 2-5 miles a month when we were married (didnt have insurance on it). and then she took it, and the rest is history
All I do is run 1/2-3/4 quart of 2 stroke Oil per ENTIRE fill up, I use the red bottle stuff from autozone, I buy it by the gallon and use it like that, just fill up my own quart bottles, its cheaper I beleive its Exccon and its TC-W3 certified 'low ash'

I have a pathetic 265,000 on the car now, but it's the third motor and second tranny, second rear end. The interior is still orginial though.
386,000 is a lofty goal, but with a couple more replacements I think I can get there!!

I just realized my '79 only has 195,000 kms on it, so it's only got about 77,000 miles on it.... but it's on its second engine (don't ask about the rag in intake incident)

Well, I have owned (still own) 3 RX7's
172k miles on my first 84. Hit a huge palette going 75 and it cracked my engine. Put a Mazda factory rebuild and got to 192k before a tree fell on it.
My other 84 got to 140k miles before I got rearended by a cop. Engine still good.
My 85 current car has 238k miles on it. The water pump went out at 201k miles (lots of rust in there) and my grandfather overheated it. I didn't want to chance it so I plugged my Mazda factory engine (after sitting for 5 years) in and am now at 240k miles.
All my trannys and rear ends are original. All my gauges still work.
I have owned a ton of other cars and have to say my RX-7s age the best. All my friends Toyotas and Hondas age badly with bouncing guages and failing dash lights.
I don't know what it is, but when I go out and test drive new cars and get back into my RX7, it feels comparible in terms of ride and handling. Not bad for almost 20 years old.
