White Air Cond Solenoid....

Ok..

The hose that goes from behind the air cleaner/carby assembly, into the top of the white solenoid, has broken off at the top....im trying to glue it back on but it's pretty crappy....wondering if it is really necessary? I know it's obviously something to do with the a/c....but what would happen if i use the ac without it in the little hole? it seems like a relief hose or something, since it's a very small connection.... everything else is fine around it.

If it is the hose I am thinking that it is it goes from the selenoid to the idle up actuator. If you just plug it off and turn on the a/c then the idle will not be compensated. No real problem except for a really low idle when the a/c is on.

Yeah it's supossed to raise the idle to 1200 rpm thru the throttle opener when a/c is on.

Finally!!!!!

Someone else who thinks that a A/C system is not something you rip out and throw into the garbage can!!!

I live in New Orleans where we have two months of 75 degrees and 10 months of 95 degrees with 100% humidity!!!

I got all of these kids showing up ripping their A/C systems out of their cars!! Ones that even work too. I have a huge pile of good compressors and condensors. Such a waste.

Here's the clencher after all of that and telling me how much faster their cars are going to go, they don't bothers to remove the Evaporators & Switches.

How much does that A/C System weight anyway??

Can't be worth it for all of that sweating.

Kehoe - any of those compressors and condensors fit our cars? If so, I could use one. I live in Central CA, it's gets friggen hot during the summer, no way I want an a/c-less car!

I'm getting off subject here. Sorry.

If you do not want to fix the soleniod just turn the idle up a hundred or two.

And yes, I do have extrra compressor and what not.

I'll let them go cheap if you want one. I kept only the good ones and they are oiled and plugged.

Don't ask me here however.

KehoeAutomotive@aol.com is where you can eamil me.
