Where/How engine rebuild

I live in Utah and am wondering where I should get an engine rebuilt, or if I could do it myself.

On another note....I came across an engine that was overheated, would a rebuild fix it or is it a futile attempt to make a 13b work again.

Nothing like a few posts today

thanks

Overheated rotaries are generally to be avoided. The aluminum housings can warp and generally don't like being abused like that. If you've got a decent 12A that's an 80,000 or so smoker, some crazy guys have got website with a step by step rebuild that ran successfully with no smoke with good power. They DID NOT get new housings. They used the original engine housings since it was just smoking. It's on the Mazda Webring somewhere. I haven't visited it lately but saw it, like, 4 months ago or so. Had pictures and everything plus the little details that don't get covered in a Chilton's or Haynes....

There is a video somewhere that goes through step by step how to rebuild a 13B.

I did mine by Haynes manual and a couple of phone calls to Mazdatrix. Can be done, take your time and use a Micrometer on everything. My rebuild going strong 110 PSI
