Yes, make some. A friend of mine made his own clear tails, and they don't look insulting.

theres a few tutorials around on how to make clear taillights if u want to do a search, jsut gotta replace bulbs to be colored and make sure you leave the reflector on if your state requires it (i think they all do)

I have been considering making some taillights with LED's, sort of a scaled down version of S8 Rx7 rear lights with the three circles.

The only problem with LEDs is that they will trigger the stop lamp warning light. Other than that clear tailights with LEDs look real nice. I have a clear set on my 85' Rx7.

Back in the day a set of lights called "Roundies" were available. I've never seem them myself, but on the "other" forum, Nopistons, I've heard talk of them.

I came across this picture on another thread https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ht=tinted+tail
"Gregs" tinted his and I think they are really nice.
Did he tint the whole thing or just around the lit part?

^^Hey Roundabout, I've been looking for a picture of blackout lights lit up forever!! I'm going to black mine out and attempt to fabricate my own "roundies". I think it will look pretty sweet

fu**en right Slayer! Im going to be tinting my own soon.
I would like to know if that spray-on tinting stuff works or if I should just go vinyl. The thing about the spray is that I think it may fade after a while.... anybody have any experiance with this stuff?

That's what I'm gonna use. I believe it's weather resistent but I'm not sure. I'm gonna blackout the outside of my lenses and use some of that create your own lens cover stuff to cut some "roundies" out and put it on the inside of the lens so it's total black and only the circles light up

Yep,I did the blackout thing years ago too, cost me too many tickets so I switched back to stock......nothing else really seems appropriate.
