Where do you guys hook up extra elec. stuff?

Just wonder how/where you guys go about hooking up stuff like e-fan, fuel pump(if not using stock wiring). Just extra things that you want to get power when you turn the key.

Thanks,
ryan

Well for high current stuff, like an e-fan, it is probably best to connect it directly to the battery + terminal (with an appropriate sized inline fuse of course) and connect it through a relay. Just make sure that the relay is rated for more current than what the fan will draw. The relay can then be switched on with a toggle switch, thermostat switch, or whatever needing only smaller sized wire. The relay is used to switch high currents with a small current. Make sure that the main power to the fan (from battery to relay to the e-fan) is a heavy enough gage to support the current draw of the fan (something like 10 ga. probably).

For smaller stuff, you can connect into the stock fuse box. If you unbolt the fuse box from the dash, you will see that there are terminals that aren't used. You can either crimp a wire to one of these directly (both switched and constant power are available) and run an inline fuse. Or you may be able to add some terminals in the stock fuse box and just use one of the empty slots to add another fused power source.

You can just use factory wiring/fuse if you are just replacing the stock unit with a similar aftermarket unit, such as replacing the stock fuel pump with and aftermarket one.

I am working on adding a new Wiring harnes to control all my extra stuff, and will use relays that come on with the switch.

the wiring harnes I made has 1 set(power, ground) of 8 awg, 2 sets of 10 awg, and 6 single 12 awg with a 10 awg gound for them. Plan is to control, the Radio, 3 to 5 guages, and have room for other stuff like amps.

Since I only have 2 or 3 extra circuits, I wired each right off the fusible link panel (where the main power from the battery comes to), then through a fuse holder, then to the circuit.
