Where do the antirattle springs fit?

On the 84 GSL-SE front brakes, where does the anti-rattle spring fit? Neither the Haynes nor the Mazda manuals show where they actually go. One fell out and the other was jambed against the back of the caliper when they were removed.

Anti-rattle? My ReX needs a lot of anti-rattleness.

You'll see holes in the top of the pads. The little length of the anti rattle spring fits in there. If I remember correctly, you start in a hole on the pad closest to you and in the lower hole. The pads should have 2 holes each, so it doesn't matter when you put them in. Then it will only go one way.

I hope that actually makes some sense!

If not I'm sure someone else will explain it alot better than me.

In the garbage can, just get some of that stop squak, its a silicone derivative. You spread it even on the metal part of the pad, and it sticks to the caliper, keeping the pad from rattling, and then causing squeaking..
