Where can I get shocks for hatch w/wiper?
I've got strongarm...and it allows for the wiring to be installed easily...basically...
1. Carefully remove the wiring for the wiper
2. Cut the U joint end of the old strut to remove the wiring
3. Unscrew the U joint end of the Strongarm strut
4. Install the wiring same as it was on the old wiper
5. Screw the U joint back on and install the strut
That easy...Strongarm was designed to do this and it says it on the instructions as 7aull said. And they hold up very nicely

The hatch on my GSL-SE is also dropping on me. Sometimes it stays up, but not for long.
Is there any way to tell which one is bad? Or should I just replace them both? At our Canadian Tire the StrongArm lift supports are CAD$38.61ea and from a local Mazda dealer they are $187.08ea
Of course the other option is just to cut a length of pvc pipe I have laying around.

...Why couldn't you show me that before it ended..I kid I kid.
Everywhere I've read says to replace them both at once to keep the back glass from twisting.
Does anyone by chance have the model number of the Strong Arm shocks?
Out of 3 parts I've had to order for my RX-7, Autozone/Advance has given me 2 wrong parts and 1 right part.

As stated above, the struts come apart easily so you can add the electrical parts to a Non Wiper replacement...
I'd reccomend getting two because I've seen where people have replaced just one on other types of cars and the twist looked strong enough to break the glass.

The website indicates model 4709 for both sides.

The Strong Arm part number is 4709. That should also be the same number they look up at Advance Auto. I ordered some last fall and replaced the wiper wiring. Do you guys know about the "Search" function? It took less than a minute to find that number.
