where to buy a 12aT?

hey guys i have some questions for the winter project... i figured since when i do my work its clean and less wires, so i decided on going with a 12aT. now will that bolt up to a gsl-se tranny? and where do i buy one? or do i have to assemble my own? ill most likely rebuild it but where can i get a whole engine with turbo and carb and everything?

The genuine 12A turbo came with fuel injection and low compression rotors and were only fitted to Japanese domestic RX-7s. They are a great engine. An engine importing company such as Corksport should be able to supply one. Not many were built, mainly for the Cosmo, so they are rather rare and usually cost more than a 13B turbo engine. With an updated ecu and an intercooler, mine produces over 200rwhp with good power from 1500rpm.

Some people just add a turbo to a 12A with carby, it's not as good as the genuine engine but is a cheap option. Most rotaryshops can build one while several producer a do it yourself kit, for example Pineapple Racing, Rotaryshack . A search should give you a full list.

The 12A turbo engine will bolt up to any gen 1 transmission but I suggest an upgraded clutch and light steel flywheel.

so what you are saying is, generally it would be alot EASIER and CHEAPER to go 13bt? cause there is a company that sells a 13bt with tranny for 650 plus shipping, so about 1000$ shipped to my door. not bad IMO. but is there a such thing as a "clean" turbo engine bay?

COme over to my place.. I am installing a 13bt (j-spec) for a guy locally here... His motor came in friday and is sitting here waiting on an ecu and wiring harness...

BTW 12AT in a GSL-se is retarded...

www.rotaryshack.com usually has one.

Corksport generally has 12AT, 13BT, 13BTT, and 20Bs, as well.

The gsl-se ecu will run the 12aT motor. The japan version of the gsl-se is a 12at.
