Where is "The Burr" on a Holley FPR?
Okay, I need someone to explain to me where exactly the sloppiness is at in the casting of the Holley FPRs. I just purchased this one and I want to make sure that it is okay to use before I put it on. Where is "The Burr" that everyone talks about cleaning up in the casting?
I think Billy was the one that originally mentioned this, but I've never heard anyone actually explain what or where to clean up. Apparently there is some sloppiness in the casting of these fuel pressure regulators that causes them to read "ZERO" fuel pressure no matter what setting they are on. This doesn't happen with all of them, but I've seen increasing reports lately.
Billy or anyone else? Input would be MUCH appreciated. How do you fix the problem, if in fact you have it?
Thanks fellas!
Jamie

I have not torn mine down yet either. My issue is that every time you start the car, you get a different fuel pressure. No consistency makes it a bitch to tune.
Jeff- what exactly did you do to yours? You said you were playing with your *****, but I don't see how that would help any.

with these things they seem to be hit or miss. i've had some that work absolutely great all the time and others that cannot hold a consistant pressure.
like kentetsu said, when they're in miss mode you start the car and you get a different pressure. usually after driving it for a bit i'll park it in the driveway and it had settled to where i set it to.
i usually just put a new spring and / or diaphragm in there and that does it.
a sketchy fuel pump won't help either. they tend not to like debris and i now routinely look at the fuel filter b4 the pump once a month. being in a repu it's easy, just peer under drivers rear fender.
