When A/C fails

Yesterday, i turn on the a/c and going down the road, then all of a sudden BANG !!. I thought the world ended.
No ****, a hard line blew out right on the compresser. i never would have thought that the hard line ( not hose )
would fail,,,they do though. pain in the ***. IMO

There is a Tone of pressure on an A/C line.

It is not too surprising that the tubbing failed.

No you have an excuse to pull the A/C

Pull the A/C !???? ****, before the line failed, my a/c was soooo cold, you could see it coming out the vents. The a/c is my second favorite feature of my 7. After the moonroof. And your right, there is a ton of presure that runs through the a/c system. More then i thought.

High side is 150 psi, low side is 30 psi. My A/C runs at only 50 psi high side and works just fine... makes me wonder how f*cking cold it would be if it were up to 150 psi!

Wow only 150 psi on the high side. A residential AC will get up to ~260 psi on the high side on an average day.

And I thought 150 was a lot! Although, we do have small compressors since it was designed to run R-12...
