Question Wheelskins Cover?

Anyone used a Wheelskins cover on thier first gen steering wheel? I've read some decent general reviews, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with our cars/wheels? My leather wheel is busy deteriorating and coming off in little burgundy bits on my hands... so something needed to be done... and a replacement wheel is mucho expensive. The Wheelskins cover seemed like a good alternative. Opinions?

My -SE came with a nice leather wheel cover. The original leather is MINT underneath it. Apparently, the original owner put it on and the car has been sold with it ever since (I'm the 5th owner). It's black and gives me a lot of grip on the wheel. I have no idea what brand it is tho.
