wheel well questions

Ok, I know this comes up alot, but i got a ? about the rear wheel wells rotting out. I remember someone saying its because there are several sheets of metal there that aren't really sealed properly, and water gets in. Is there any one spot that the moisture tends to come in through that could be sealed off? The reason I ask is becuase the wheels on my S are rusting, but not horribly and I'd like to take care of it without having to get new wheels welded in. So I'm thinking if i can seal where the water gets in from and then just sand all the rust away followed by some sealer of some kind I should be ok. Any thoughts?

well, I had the same problem recently, but I had to weld new ones in. My suggestion, if its not too bad, is to sandblast the entire area (if you have a sandblaster), get some sort of chemical rust treatment, and then seal up the entire area, making sure to get plenty on the seams. check out www.por-15.com, they have some good products.
