There isn't anything you can do for a wheel that sticks out too far, besides fender flares. 0 offset would set the wheel out at least 1.5 inches, mabey 2. I believe the non -SE cars require a -35mm offset, while -SE cars require a 38-40mm offset. I could be wrong, but I believe anything between -30mm and -40mm will work on the 1st gen.

+0mm offset 5" wide wheel will fit fine... but not a 7" wide wheel.

The offset of a wheel is in regards to the width of the wheel. Check the other post "Please show your RIMS/OFFSET" for more info.

Offset is one thing I never understood about wheels. Backspacing, bolt pattern, width and diameter are all easy to understand, but offset is just something I don't understand too well. I just know most RWD domestic cars take about a -25mm offset, most RWD import cars take a -35mm offset, most FWD cars take a -45mm offset and trucks generally fit a 0mm offset.

Ok, just checked out a site I know of that explains offset. I was forgetting where offset if measured from. Offset is measured from the centerline of the wheel. So taking that into consideration, the + and - offsets make more sense. Boy am I dumb sometimes.

Here is the link to an explaination of offset: http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/TermsOffset.htm

Also, here is a link to the home page of the site. They make lightweight steel racing wheels: http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/
