Question Wheel Conversion?

Hi, I am currently trying to find a way to convert the wheel pattern on a '85 RX-7 GSL, I am working with the 4 lug pattern, I am trying to
use Front Wheel Drive 4x100 wheels, First, will I be able to fit the 17x7.5" Wheels at stock hieght, second, how do I go about changing the
bolt pattern or using adapters, and what size adapters will I need? I would like to know if there is another vehicle I can swap parts from to
do this swap inexpensively, or if I just need to go with adapters. The wheels I am hoping to use are coming of a '96 VW Golf if that helps
any.

Can anyone help me out? We would like to resolve this issue by the weekend if possible. Thanks guys.

You need parts from an 85 gsl-se.
They are 5 bolt.
Front wheel drive cars usually have offset.
Rx-7's need 0 offset.
If you do get them on there they'll rub the frame.
Sorry.

Umm... Nope!

They are a different bolt pattern, but still four bolts.

For the umpteenth time.

1979-1985
S, GS, LS, 1983 LE, and GSL models used a 4 x 110mm bolt patern

1984-1985
GSL-SE models used a x 4.5 inch (114.3mm) bolt patern.

As I recall, both have a 0 offset, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

17 x 7.5 inch rims should fit with no problems, IF you get the correct offset and tires.

I have no clue how you can fit a 4 x 100mm wheel on there, or even if the offset is compatible. If the rims have a negative offset, you're SOL. If they have a positive offset it may be possible to use spacers. Still I don't know how you'd change the bolt patern.

Sorry I can't help more,
-Spencer

Seeing that your in Washington state will make this easy. Im in Victoria BC, and in town we have two places that can get bolt adapters/.75inch spacers, i think one of the sources gets them from a company that makes adapters for Porsche supercup cars. And with the CDN $ being worth as much as toilet paper you should love the pricing. The spacer offset lets you fit civic / integra wheels no prob.

SHC AUTOGRAPHICS : 1-250-360-2209 ,I think they charge $390CDN for the set of 4

BIG-O TIRES : 1-250-384-7477 ,I think they charge $400
