Question wheel berring

how do i replace a wheel bering? and how difficult is it to do yourself?

front is easy, sorta... but if your changing the fronts, you might as well just chance the rotors if there half bad.while your in there. just my opinion.

Welcome to the forum!

Replacing the fronts is pretty easy but the rears are rather difficult IMO. Get yourself a Haynes manual (I see 'em cheap on eBay all the time) and take a look at the wheel bearing section. I do most everything on my RX-7 including front end alignments but the wheel bearings is something I would have done by a professional that has all the proper tools at his disposal.

- see section 9 -


Take wheel off
Remove two screws off brake caliper
Hang brake caliper on coil spring (with coat hanger)
Remove dust cover
Remove cotter pin and nut
Pull rotor off
Replace bearings and seal
Reassemble

Do other side

Yep, pretty easy (fronts). I took my rears to a machine shop to get off and pres new ones on. After removing the axles first!
