Whats so special about the RB "modified" carbs?
#26
i was looking into the same thing. once i get my exhaust done, i want to go after somehting else. is a performance carb a bad idea as fast as simplicity? i mean, i want to get as free flowing as possible, and im thinking porting will be the last thing i do since it involves taking out/apart my engine. do yall suggest anything else after my exhaust is done? such as carb and intake manifold.

This is a quote off rotary rocket web site, I dont know the extent of their investigation?
"Racing Beat Street Port Holley intake
Consists of a modified Holley 4160 Series 465 cfm 4-bbl carburetor (yuck) and a ram manifold. Modifications to the Holley include a tap into the primary float bowl for the metering oil pump line, and the addition of a small actuating lever on the primary throttle shaft to control the metering oil pump's flow rate. Upgrades to the carb include center-hung 'racing-style' float bowls and braided stainless steel fuel lines (ooooh, wow!).
RotaryRckt would recommend that anyone interested in a similar setup forego the Holley carb and install a throttle body fuel injection unit (such as a Holley Pro-Jection) atop the Racing Beat manifold. The Holley carb is really a poor choice for a street vehicle."
I ran a 1" open spacer under my (nonrotary) 600 and it ran like ****? Back to the seperate runners for me.
