When I accelerate medium to hard, this leaks a few drops of gas. What is it and how do I fix it?

It's the accelerator pump, and it probably needs replacing.
It is a simple spring loaded diaphragm, but they get old and brittle and crack after 20+ years.

DON'T order just the diaphragm. They'll sock you for 16 bucks!! (+/-)
They come in every rebuild kit for the carb, and the kits range from 23 - 45 bucks.

(spiffy engine, BTW. )

Thanks Sterling, I was hoping you or banana boy would answer. I'll price the pump and the kit and see what the difference is. I might not need the full kit since I plan to send a carb to you guys in the near future for overhaul so I can get the most roar out of my spiffy streetported engine

I do have one question though. Once I get the part, is it a relatively easy unbolt and bolt operation or is it kinda complicated and should be done by somebody relatively expert?

it is 4 screws to remove the AP, you may have to get a small screwdriver or a person with small hands to get to it w/o removing some other crap

I personally recommend small Japanese women for the hand size issue...and other things

First off, if you want a used one I got a few around that are servicable (I throw away nothing). To remove it is like a puzzle. You need to remove the clevis pin that goes thru the linkage or you wont be able to get one of the screws off. But to get the clevis pin out, you need to remove one screw or the head wont clear. So remove the screws you can get to, the remove the e-clip on the pin. Watch out as they tend to fly off into oblivion being so tiny.( I call them Jesus clips. Why? Because just when you get it out it goes flying and disappears, and then you say "Jesus *********************". ) Then remove the last screw and pull off the cover. Oh and dont lose the spring inside.
