whats this??
Nikki carb on the side towards the firewall a rod with a spring on it and a odd shaped nut at the top end thats threaded and sits on a perch. Whats the adjustment and whats it do. ??

It is part of the throttle linkage. I believe that it is a kind of redundant throttle spring. If you take it off the carb will not work right, the throttle will not open all the way. Guess how I know.
