What Wiring can be removed for T2 swap?

Hey,
This is Jimmys brother. I've tried searching on this subject with no luck. I've got a GSL-SE which is being taken apart for the T2 swap. I already have the motor waiting to go in but first i'd like to know what wiring can be ripped out. The Full engine harness has been removed (Im going to use Microtech ECU). and i'd like to have the engine bay as clean as possible. What did you guys do with the other half, such as Fuseable links etc. ? Also will the -SE starter work on The t2 motor and tranny? Any help/Tips are greatly appreciated...

If I remember right you can take out all the wiring on the pass side but leave the drivers side so you can use all the factory gauges, starter wiring and trans wiring (for reverse lights).

no, the -se starter will not work with a T2 trans.

Why would you think it's easier? It's onlt the engine harness from the passenger kick panel to the F.I. system. Mine came out in one piece. Left plenty of room.

I had to do a little work on the wiring harness for my 83. The whole engine bay wiring harness comes out of the drivers side. Fortunately there was a connector that went to the engine and the rest went to other things like headlights coils ect... I used a few of the wires that were on the engine connector (alt wires, and gauge wires) and cut the rest off.

I hacked my entire harness from bumper to bumper. I have a 6 gallon bucket just full of wires.... There is a ton of stuff that can be ditched if you really want to go a cuttn'. Practically all of the engine wiring goes through the passenger side firewall (85 GS), so if you just want to remove that, it works too.
