What T2 trans goes in a FB better, 87-88 or 89-91?

wow that looks nice zach, i have a question for you though how did you modify the shifter tube and do you have any problems of the shifter rod hitting the back of the housing? i am having this trouble with the 12a rod and housing. its like its in 3rd but it is in neutral.

Okay I got the details of my box...
It has the shifter extension and rod from an 85 transmission put onto the T2 box. The rod and internals of the T2 box need to be modded a ittle, but not much apparently.
