what is this sensor? its right next to the oil level light switch.

I was tracing wires and labeling wires on the wire harness so I know where to hook them up on the TII motor and trans.

anyhoo, on the oil pan, the front on the drivers side. There is the oil level switch which activates the idiot light. There is something next to it, to the right.

Im guessing its a grounding switch because it only has one wire going to it.

what is it.

I will have pics as soon as the I get my engine from gen1mike, and I get my volvo intercooler installed (this thing is huge. I have to modify the belly pan to make it fit)

Isn't that the sub zero tank on/off sensor? I remember someone mentioning that once.

I think I know what you are talking about. Why would it be the sub zero sensor? Would that be on the oil pan? Not doubting ya just curious if I'm thinking of the right sensor.

The possibility of me being wrong is quite high, I just seem to remember someone saying that once, it sort of makes sense that it would be there, since the oil would dictate to a certain extent the temp of the engine. Hopefully someone else will respond that actually knows what they are talking about

Yeah I'm trying to fix it but I can't figure out how to change my custom title. Send me a PM if you have any advice, back to the topic at hand. . .

I believe I heard the same info as 82 TransAm in that it is the temperature sensor for the sub-zero start assist... it was in a thread a couple weeks ago...

Speaking of the sub-zero assist, I've removed the tank from the engine bay (dirty assed useless POS), but what can I remove and or how to block it off at the intake side of things? I belive the thing in the middle is where it leads to....(see why I was asking about bead blasting?)

Right on.

Well, I've never looked at a SE engine up close, but I assume the sub zero bottle is similar to the 12a cars. On the 12a cars the line coming out of the bottle goes into the carb, I just got a vaccum cap and put it on there, If its similar you could do something like that.
