what parts needed for s4 13b na swap
Hello guys,
I have an 85 GSL with 12a with bad apex seals in my rear rotor... I am looking for a short term engine while I get my 12a running again.
I found a guy that crashed his 88 7' that has a rebuild tranny and 13b...what the parts I would need to take off his car?
I also believe I need custom drive shaft and mounts?
thanks for helping this rotary newbie....I also searched and found most 13BT info ,so hopefully I wont get flamed :0

This has been covered way too much guys but here goes again.
If you are going to put the 13b in your car you need the following.
GSL-Se oil pan and pick up tube.
GSL- SE front cover if you want to use the 4 oil metering lines. 12a cover if you don't care and only use 2 lines.
Oil metering pump from the SE if you want the 4 lines or from the 12a if you don't care or are going to use pre-mix
Either the special front engine mound from Racing Beat or notch the 12a one. This procedure can be found by searching with the term front cover or 13b swap.
If you are going to run the Fuel Injection then you would need to use the S4 harness, ECU, and all other components that go with that engine. You would also need to get a SE injection fuel pump.
It would also be recommended that you use the SE fuel tank but not critical if you did not go Turbo.
Otherwise you can just go carbureted with whatever style of intake and carb.
You would also need to upgrade your fuel pump.
You would also need to get a 13b header and exhaust if you go with the above.
If going with the stock S4 engine you could use the stock exhaust manifold and then fabricate from there back.
The transmission will bolt right in but you need to swap the tailshaft housing from your FB transmission. (this has been well covered also)
You use your stock Fb drive shaft
You also need to use your existing transmission crossmember and mount from you FB with the S4 transmission.
Like stated there are many many many many many threads on this swap Turbo is no different when it comes to the engine except for the components.

I am wanting to make sure I do the fuel upgrade correctly...
my fb pump is mounted externally correct? the S4 pump is mounted inside the tank right? so how do I mount the new fuel pump?
What about the fuel lines...are they ok or do I need to upgrade them? Do I need to add any fuel relays from the S4 to my FB to make the pump work correctly?
I am wanting to do the most simple fuel setup possible for now until I take the next step with performance upgrades...
I promise i HAVE searched for these answers but I found mostly turbo info which would be too much fuel for my needs for what the threads say
