Question What is this part??

This was bolted to the top of my 12A motor (85 RX7 GS) right by where the tranny meets the motor, it had a single wire going into it... which got caught when I was replacing the slave cylinder and pulled out of this thing. No idea what this is or what it does though.

It is a condenser, which is an electrical component that absorbs voltage spikes created when a circuit is interupted, at least I think thats what it does, (Im not really the best in electronic theory.)

yeah it stabilizes the oil pressure signal

You don't HAVE to have it but reconnect it if possible. It grounds to the engine to reduce gauge fluttering.

Awesome thanks! It looked like a condenser but where it is located made me think it couldn't be related to the distributor like I'm used to seeing.
