The fb mailing list has a high proportion of -SE owners too, for the same reasons as previously stated, IMO. |

All I've had is GSLs
I currently have an '84 GSL I had an '85 GSL paid $650 for it, sold it for $1600 :D Man I love these cars way too much. This relationship with my car jusst can't be healthy... |
ive owned 3 a gs, a gls, and a gls-se, but the gls with the gls-se engine in its the only one worth talking about... as for the gls-se, i found in it the buy and sell!

Proud owner of a '79 GS model, fully loaded with all options except sun roof. It's a good thing too, because I wouldn't fit with my helmet on if I had the roof and my FC seats installed. ;) My '79 is a bit of a Franken-rex, with a '81 electronic dizzy, '86 FC seats, '81 GSL axle and LSD and '81-'85 alloy wheels. The odo reads 105980 miles.

I have a GSL-SE... 79K miles, purchased last year from the original west coast owner. All original: No power steering, mirrors that match the white body, glass roof, no leather. I'm planning to add white powder coated wheels next year.

|
i have the 84 gslse got i for 850. i bought it 2 months ago and still dont have plates on it yet. each time i go to get it inspected the thang breaks first the bin rust then one injector broke know i have to rebuild the the motor
|
Mine's an '85 GSL limited edition (ie: NOT 13B-powered, but with all GSL options plus power steering. This one's originally from California so no headlight washer jets. (Even the SE in the US didn't have these--- only in Canada, Australia, Europe...)
My other three were '81 and '82 GX's. (only the '82 and '83 actually had the GX badge, but the '81 was identical otherwise) That's what GSL's were called in Canada until the '84's came out. At the time they were the top of the line 7 (no SE yet) and came standard with sunroof, washer jets, LSD, power everything, and 4-wheel discs (solid at rear). Only items considered optional were leather and air. Power steering was not available until '84 (and then only in the states) as far as I know. |
i got an 82 gs bought last month. i try not to turn it into a daily driver but i just cant help it:). runs really well though. planning on a gsl rear end next year. and whatever else i can think of after that.

Hey over here in oz we just got S1, 2, 3, all with different optionss. No gsl-se or anything, you guys get all the plusses over there. In my expierience, every 1 is different cos evry1 modifys them to some degree. only badges that are on them all are MAZDA & Rx7. thats it.

This may still be a problem if the top of your head touches right on the perimiter of the sunroof frame, since the clearance provided by the glass panel only extends to its own dimensions. I wonder if any of the aftermarket racing seats provide a lower seating position... |
84 gsl all stock but not for long, i finally got some money comeing in.
