What is it in line fuel after pump? no pics

Ok i just droped my tank, and cleaned it and while it was out i was contemplating on how to instal and rout my Carter Fuel pump.

I noticed there is a little metal block mounted on the drivers inner frame rail behind the fuel pump and filter. the fuel flowing from the fuel pump goes to it before it gets sent on its way to the engine bay.

my 7 is a 82 gs by the way.

thnaks all.

if anybody has a clue on what i am talking about and can show a picture i can say yes or no.

I believe you are talking about the the cut and check valve. One of it's functions is to shut off the fuel in case of a roll over.
