What gears in your rear end

Hey guys what's a good brand of gears to go with when upgrading your rear gear? I running a crazy set up and just want something better than stock. I have a s2000 swap turbo charged putting down 300hp. Want short gears. Help ya people out

gsl's came with 3.9 lsd
gslse 4.1 or 4.11 idr
mazda b2200 in the 80's will give you a 4.44 pumpkin you can drop in
and the front diff of a certain year kia sportage will give you 4.77

i believe you're getting it confused with the b2200 gears. See here:
need info regarding diff ratios - Kia Forum

thats a negative , 1995 front diff is 4.44 is different that the rest i found out the hard way .94 & 96 has 4.77. i went to junkyard and got both types. https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-arch...s-pics-667307/

Not to thread jack here but I am not sure this statement is correct. I got a 95 sportage front diff of ebay and I counted the splines when I put it into my rx7. This was 3 years ago but I am positive it was 4.77.

My pinion seal is currently leaking so I need to take it out anyway. Will double check.

i got mine from a actual junkyard and removed it from the 95 kia i even check the door vin to double check year.

Oh, I'm not saying I don't believe you. But for sure the diff I got is 4.77 and from a 95 so...

I did some internet snooping and found the real difference is SOHC vs DOHC motors, not the year.

Check out this amazing website: Very helpful in general.

SOHC Sportages = 4.44
DOHC Sportages = 4.77

Maybe this should be posted in the Kia Diff sticky as I could not find this info easily on any forum and is an important distinction.

Will any of these pumpkins (kia/b2200/etc.) swap directly into a 1979 rear axle or would I need to get a newer rx7 axle/ completely different axle?

4.44 in the Rx7 and 4.625 in the REPU. W00t!
