What gauges are you running?

I have a stock 85 GSL-SE and I want to put in some gauges! What brand do you use and what types. I'm looking to put in a Water Temp, Oil Pressure and Air Fuel Ratio, all Autometer.

Thanks

I used to run the Autometer Ultra-Lights. Very pretty (in the day) but hard to read at night.

I recently switched to Autometer Cobalts (Blue) Gauges, and love them. Very bright, easy to read, and really looks modern.

Now I just need to install the SR Motorsports gauge cluster to complete the look.

The pic is hard to see, but they are very bright.
If you like I can try again later with another camera.

But as you can see, the Blue/Red instrument cluster from SR Motorsports would look perfect with this setup.

Do you happen to want to sell the Ultra-lights? They were white face, Right? I want Water and Oil temp and oil pressure. And if so what size are they?

Talking

I just bought an 84 GSL SE for $300, sweet sweet deal! Brand new factory Mazda engine has 30K on the clock. It was a stolen recovery out of San Francisco. Since the interior was torn to hell, I slowly replaced all interior pieces with the exception of the stereo area. This is where I fabricated an aluminum plate and cut three 2 1/6" holes to put in 3 DEFI gauges: Oil Pressure, temp and water temp. Looks beautiful especially at night. I installed a CD head unit in the glove box and a 12 disc changer in the rear cargo stow area, nicely concealed. It's looking better every day. Just ordered a set of Volk Racing TE37 Bronze rims 15X7 all the way around, my bro should be sending them from Japan in early August, can't wait!

You can get the Gauge Pillar from Lo-Tek,Inc
84-85 RX-7 Dbl
item # ZCX0044
$44.99 + $5.99 S&H
2- 1/16 openings
919-687-2762
www.gaugepods.com
Rec'd mine in 2 days and it fits perfectly.
Nothing like custom made.

Now on to the Guages.
Check into Nordskog. They are Digital and always accurate.
I've tried out many different oes out there and this Company puts out the best bang for your buck.
Plus (Lifetime Warranty) and when you call them for a tech question they are always Polite and Helpful) Something thats seems to be lost in our world today.
I'm running OilTemp, OilPressure,& Watertemp Nordskog Gauges.
If you hook them up right, they will Dim when you turn on the lights.
Order them from Summit Racing, they are the least expensive thru them.
No Rice Here.

I agree, nothing like custom made. My Gauge Pod holds THREE, Not TWO Like LoTeks. Mine is custom made, out of Fiberglass.

Good deal on the Nordskog gauges.
However, I will be the 1st of many to tell you, that Digital (number readout) gauges are very hard to read, especially at a glance.

Nothing like a nice sweeping needle to give a quick glance and "know" if your fine, or need to slow down.

Just out of curiosity, where does the air/fuel ratio gauge get its signal from? How accurate is it?

There is a guy over on the mazspeed forum that got those built and was stuck with a few of them. He is trying to finish selling them. Might want to check it out first and help a fellow rotor head.

Autometer Carbon Fibre Series, in carbon fibre cups.

Water temp, oil pressure and boost. I also have a volts gauge but haven't mounted it yet.
