I need an external fuel pump to run with a turbo 2 set up for my first gen.

It needs to be able to support 300rwhp.

Any suggestions?

I'm running a walbro inline... I bought it form summit racing. Its labeled as a holley, but when I got it, the pump itself had walbro written on it. Its one of the 255 lph variety. Cost $129 IIRC.

yeah ... i was going to suggest the Walbro 255

 

I am using an SE fuel pump with Malpassi RRFPR, if you are going to boost high, then you might want to use the Walbro.

 

I run 2 Bosch VW Rabbit pumps. I flow tested them and they flow enough for 275hp EACH so more than enough and they are cheap $136.22 CAN funds each or get them from a wrecking yard for $15-20 each.

 

I have the exact same setup as you do but my concern is i cant get my Malpassi regulator to adjust the fuel pressure. I have turned it both ways and nothig. I am using the turbo reg with boost input ( capped off since i am not running a turbo yet) and dual fuel out lines (but i am only running one carb second line goes to my gauge). ANy ideas or help?

There is one incoming line, that is indicated by the arrow. The return line is on the bottom. There is a boost referencing source that is right above the outlet line, but you say you have that capped off.

You may have the wrong port capped off if you are not able to adjust your fuel pressure.

I like my bosch from a 911 turbo.

Is that walbro 255 rated to 70psi? If not I woulden't get it.

I got a NOS fuel pump, its actually a holley.. I forget the specs on it, but it seems to work fine.

I'm using a Porsche 911 Turbo fuel pump It will easily flow enough, but is expensive to get. Luckily for me though, Robert(680rwhp12a) didn't have any extra -SE pumps, which is what I paid for, so he just gave me the 911T pump instead

 

What year porsche had these fuel pumps?

I have an MSD fuel pump that i bought at summit for 75 bucks... works great, but is pretty loud. I still need to do some things to it thought... although the stock outlet hoses won't fit...

Isn't the Porsche pump a Bosch 044 Motorsport pump? That'll definately handle 300hp and have plenty in reserve. And all at 70psi.

 

I found out that walbro makes a 255lph external pump. You can get it a www.kickyride.com for $130. They don't advertise it on their site but if you email them they do sell it. They are also RX-7 guys and the owner is building a turbo first gen with a T04E and he is using this pump.

This will probably be the way I go.

if you live near a junkyard you can use a SE pump or a 88 and up vw or volvo pump or a nissan 280 zx pump will work too. those are all external EFI type pumps that will work fins and should not cost more than $40.00!

no i believe they are slightly different. THe 044 i had was a mammoth pump with the surge tank setup and everything it *was* a beastly setup. you can get a 044 from australia.
