what to do for timing when i turbo?

so i have an '82 12a that i have to rebuild, then after break-in im going to turbo it. i hear alot about people locking the dizzy, but i also heard of people hooking up a boost line to the vac. advance on the dizzy? so i guess my question is has anyone done both ways and seen what works/performs the best? the car wont be a daily, but will be driven a few times a week pretty hard.
