What is the Difference Between GS & GSL?

The GS has a standard rear end with drum brakes. The GSL has an LSD rear end with disk brakes.

I hope that's the main point of the difference, otherwise the smaller things I haven't a damn clue!

 

I think also cruise control, power windows, power rear view mirrors.

some GS models did come w/ sunroof.

dark_sky, do a search you this is basic information that's in the forum or in any RX-7 website in general. damm noobs nowadays... too lazy to freakin' search for information.

 

The '83 LE was based on the GS sunroof model. According to some sites, the sunroof became standard in the GS around 83 or so. As far as I can tell, about the only items not available on the GS, was PW/PL, PS (84 up) and the rear disk/LSD combo.

 

ok sorry i just needed to know some things i have a gs and gsl and did not know that i have a LSD and rear disk brakes on it so thanks. now can i take the rear axle off the gsl and put it on the gs

 

Yes, swap the entire axle assembly

 

My old GS had a sun roof, however, it's smaller in size than the one on my GSL.

 

My 85 GS has an aftermarket sunroof, not oem, and it was not a dealer install either. I finally got the orginal sans-sunroof headliner installed last week. The headliner had never been re-installed after the sunroof was put in. What a pita.
