What did you pay for ur exhuast weld

What did you pay for ur exhuast weld

im getting from the headers and Y pipe, a straight pipe replacing the cats welded to the stock muffler.. so just pipe and a weld for the Y pipe and headers, the cat replace pipe from the y pipe to muffler. so thats 3 weld points, how much should i be paying for this to be done right and how much did u pay

i have a friend that welds so it didn't cost me a thing. i don't know the going rate but i really can't see it costing more than $20, maybe not that much.

I paid $100. The guy used half and half new/oldpipes. that was from the header back.

how did you get your straight pipe done? did you take it to a shop and have them do it? did you have to convince them that it was a race or show car if you did? i think i might have to... or did you do it yourself? i have an aftermarket cat system, not the stock 3 mazda cats. no headers either...(yet)

Muffler shops are not allowed to remove the cats and make a replacement pipe for it due to regulations. But, if you bring drive the car to the shop WITHOUT the cat, they will make what ever you want. Loud but if you do it in early saturday morning, not too bad.

or, if u take it to the shop and ask them to do it, most times they will. Just dont call. Thats what 2 of my friends did at a Maxi Muffler. Just showed up and said take this off, put a straigh pipe on and they did. A different friend called to set up an appt to have it done and they said they cannot do that because its illegal.

i drove up to the muffler shop running just straight headers... state troopers scared teh bejesus outta me... i took the muffler with me and told em i wanted 2.5in from the header to the muffler. 70 bucks is what i paid, only question they asked me is how i wanted it angled..

I got mine straight piped from header to new muffler with flanges for about $36 all new pipe and 2,1/2 too.
