Question What color to paint engine?

I'm looking for color combination for my 12A, I know it's not recommended to paint the housings, but I have before with no problems, I would like to do it in black and polish the housings. I was woneding if you all can post pics of your engines, much appreciated,, oooh and to make things worst the motor is all assembled. If any of you guys have polished ther housing, please any advise to make it as easy as possible

That's like the submarine from Operation Pettycoat.

Or, am I the only one who's seen that movie?

I'd paint it blue. I like blue.

As long as it isn't red... that's WAY to common a colour for these engines.... I'd vote blue too, depending on the colour of the exterior of your car.

Black and polished is cool, I have also thought about yellow and polished, yellow and black, white and polished, and black and white.

Pink.

Because how embarassed do you think those Mustang and Honda boys will feel when they get beat by a 1.2 or 1.3 (or even 2.0!) liter, PINK engine.

Black, I paint all my engines black. Any color and you're going to have to keep it clean so the dirt doesn't stick to it.

Silver front housing, black #1 rotor housing, Silver Intermeidiate (sp?) housing, Black #2 rotor housing, silver rear housing

I think that would look sick.

My god that 3 rotor is sexy.
I think I'm gonna do black sides & polished rotor housings on my 12A.
Heres a blue 13B I helped build. He painted the rotor housings silver, rather than polish them.

maybe it has something to do with heat or because the block is aluminum? i'd like to know why cuz i'm gonna disassemble my engine (hopefully soon...) and paint it while i'm at it!

I think black cast iron parts and oober-polished mirror-like aluminum housings is the way to go...
