What catbak system is best for a 84 gsl-se?

What catbak system is best for a 84 gsl-se?

I just bought an 84 gsl-se and i want to do some mods on it. (many for hp) i got a K&N filter for it, but im still not sure what kind of catbak i want. if u guys could leave me some ideas, it would be really helpful. thanks.

not too many you will find... best bet is to stop by www.racingbeat.com and see what they have, custom at an exhaust shop with a borla/magnaflow or such would be cheapest.

A catback system is almost useless on a 1st gen. The back end of the exhaust and muffler is pretty free flowing in stock form and you may only gain about 5hp from a catback. If you want a real good exhaust, pick up a RB header and presilencer then build the back half yourself, or get the full RB exhaust which IMO is a waste of money. Way too expensive. The header and presilencer will run you about $300 I think, as opposed to over $800 for a full RB system. You can probably build the back half from the presilencer back for about another $250.

BTW, a full system as described above will probably net you about 20hp.

home made header and straight pipe. thats what im running on my gs

of coarse i have a complete disregard for Db laws and anoying neighbors LOL!
