I own a SE and I have 15" rims. I have them wrapped in 205/55R15 Toyo Proxes 4's. I agree anything larger than 16 is too big. When I converted from my stock (I think 8lb) aluminum rims to my 15" 11lb rims I noticed a difference in performance. Imagine what it would be like with 17" which by the way are as big as you can get in an FB I believe. The whole 1" or rubber on the wheel and all.

IMO, 205/50R15 is as big as you should go with a stock body and to retain the same diameter. Yeah, 16 and 17 is the current trend, but you have to admit they greatly change the classic look of the car ( for better or worse, still a drastic change to have so much more wheel and so little section width of tire ). My .02

past 16" and you're into diminishing returns. Greater unsprung weight straining the suspension, compromised ride, and expensive tires.

I've got 15x7's with 205/50-15 pirelli's I'm sure 16's would fit but I haven't been able to find any larger wheels with the right bolt pattern and offset for a gsl.

See the pics on my website.
