what is the best preformance exhaust

specifically for an 85 12a I want to lose the cats and go to silencers but how effective are they, does anyone know of an exhaust system to do this that will sound good(more like stock than track).

It looks like the best exhaust for you is the Racing Beat set up. It is not much louder than stock, but the note is much better. With the full exhaust and headers, you lose both cats and gain a VERY noticable increase in power. Unless you want the most peak horsepower, this is the way to go.

I agree, I got the racing beat setup I love it. The only downfall like has been said it is a little restrictive, unless you are going all out this restriction really shouldn't matter.
